Which peg?

Product development à la pegs:

— Which peg do you like most?
— Which peg do you think works best?
— Which peg are you most likely to buy?
— Would the person sitting nearest you answer differently?

It’s worth a ponder if you want to avoid hanging your product out to dry (unless it’s a peg, of course).

Welcome to Hive

Hive is the planning tool I’ve always wanted. It was borne out of many frustrated years spent planning projects and scheduling resources using spreadsheets, project software, shared calendars, whiteboards, and just about everything else imaginable. It was like pulling teeth. I wanted something simple dammit, and quick, smart and pragmatic to boot.

Hive has been in development for just over two years. During this time, technology advances have removed the performance gap between web-based software and installed software, and software-as-a-service has become a widely accepted business model. This has allowed us to create a product that is quicker than a whiteboard, simpler than a spreadsheet, and more relevant and powerful than traditional project software. It will give you answers.

My co-founder in Hive is Andrew Butel. We first worked together on the original team that took Xero.com to NZ$55M IPO in less than 12 months. We’ve assembled a world-class team to work with us on Hive. We are extremely proud of Hive, and at the same time feel we’ve only scratched the surface of what we want to do.

So sign up for our beta trial and have a play. I think you’ll like it :)
